TELEHANDLER
Duration: 7hrs.
This Telehandler course discusses the hazards associated with operating telehandlers. Hazards reviewed include equipment, material, environmental and process hazards. This course includes a practical portion and is conducted at the client's location.
Course Outline
- CSA B335, Safety standard;
- OSHA Regs 851 as they apply;
- Terms and Lift Classifications;
- Types, designations and areas of use;
- Safe operating procedures;
- Daily pre shift inspection;
- Loading and stacking;
- Stability principles;
- Handling loads, travelling and parking;
- Start up, operator restraint, ramps & grades;
- Elevating personnel;
- Shutdown procedures;
- Fuel handling, storage;
- Review of basic safety rules;
- Theory Exam and Practical Evaluation.
CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion of the theoretical and practical evaluations, a wallet card and all necessary paperwork for each participant will be submitted to the employer as proof of training. Certificate of training valid for three years.
REQUIREMENTS: This course requires participants to have suitable clothing (weather suited) and personal protection equipment (ie: CSA certified safety boots, safety glasses) for the practical portion of the course.
