LADDER HANDLING

DURATION: 3 hours

Designed to educate users on safe ladder practices, this course provides an interactive approach and complies with necessary regulations to reduce or eliminate ladder injuries.

Course outline:

  •   Hazard identification, assessment & control;
  •   OHSA Regulations –duties of workers, supervisors & employers;
  •   Ladder safety;
  •   Ladder Pitch;
  •   Common Hazards;
  •   Cutting tools – the 21 dangers & counter measures;

  •   Wearing PPE;
  •   Injury reporting as per OHSA Regs;
  •   Protecting fellow workers;
  •   Housekeeping;
  •   Practical hands on;
  •   Review & Examination;

CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion of the course, a wallet card and all necessary paperwork for each participant will be submitted to the employer as proof of training.

REQUIREMENTS: This course requires participants to have suitable clothing (weather suited) and personal protection equipment (ie: CSA certified safety boots, safety glasses) for the practical portion of the course.
